Editorial Reviews

What Leaders Are Saying

Praise from professors, practitioners, and executives at the frontier of enterprise AI.

Most AI books are either deep technical guides or executive-strategy hand-waving. This one fills the rarely-occupied middle, written by someone who actually built and ran AI teams at Oracle for 25 years. Mimaroglu’s core argument is that most AI failures are organizational failures, not technical ones. He walks through how Research, Deployment, and Production teams should divide labor, what AI should actually look like on the inside, and what didn’t work along the way. If you’re a leader trying to stand up or rationalize an AI organization, this is one of the few books written for that exact problem.

This book is a fantastic step-by-step guide, whether you’re just starting out in AI and want to know more, or a seasoned pro who wants to refine or sense-check your processes. Well written, clear, and covers the practical as well as the theoretical. My favourite quote is ‘embrace failure’ — it’s the best way to learn. Selim didn’t have an easy path to get to where he is, and is not afraid to share his learnings so we don’t have to make the same mistakes. I really enjoyed the pitfalls sections in each chapter, delivering short, knowledge-packed nuggets. Like he says, AI is a journey — and this is a great roadmap.

This book provides a masterful roadmap for navigating the complex transition of AI from experimental models to high-impact, real-world enterprise solutions.

From AI strategy and organizational design to product, deployment, and production, Selim Mimaroglu provides a rare end-to-end perspective on what it truly takes to succeed with AI in the enterprise. Grounded, pragmatic, and highly relevant.
